For streak-free windows, use an automotive glass cleaner without alcohol or ammonia (which can damage tinted films). Spray onto the window or onto a waffle weave microfiber, then wipe in straight motions (not circular). Flip the microfiber and do a second dry pass to remove residue. Work window by window, in the shade and on a cool surface, to prevent quick drying. For the interior windshield, use a handled tool to reach it easily. A hydrophobic treatment for windshields is a coating that makes water bead on the surface of the glass. The water forms droplets that slide under the effect of the wind from 60-80 km/h, considerably improving visibility in the rain. The product generally consists of silica or fluoropolymers, which create an invisible layer. Application is done on a windshield that is perfectly clean and decontaminated: apply the product with a pad, let it dry, then wipe. The protection lasts 3 to 6 months depending on conditions. Limescale marks on windows come from hard water (automatic watering, car washes). To remove them, use a limescale remover for car windows or diluted white vinegar. Apply to the window, leave for 2 to 3 minutes, then rub with a microfiber or a soft pad. Very ingrained marks require cerium polishing or a product based on citric acid. Rinse thoroughly and dry. To prevent limescale from coming back, apply a hydrophobic treatment that prevents water from drying on the window. Always dry your vehicle after washing.

It is not recommended. Household glass cleaners often contain ammonia, which can damage tinted films, rubber seals, and interior plastics. They also leave a residual film that causes annoying reflections when driving at night. Automotive glass cleaners are formulated to be compatible with all vehicle materials, without ammonia and with superior anti-streak performance. They are also effective on the curved surfaces of windshields and rear windows. AGM Vision recommends automotive-specific cleaners for an optimal and safe result.

Yes, all glass surfaces receive the same care. Cleaning the side windows and the rear window follows the same method as for the windshield. Be careful, however: the rear window often includes fragile defogger wires. Always wipe in the horizontal direction (parallel to the wires) and do not press too hard. The hydrophobic treatment also applies to the side windows to improve visibility in rainy weather and make cleaning easier. On tinted windows, use only ammonia-free products so as not to damage the film.
