Glossworkz Glaze polisher Chemical Guys 473 ml

The Glossworkz glaze from Chemical Guys is a self-leveling polish that masks micro-scratches in the clear coat and revives the depth of the paint. This 473 ml bottle is applied by hand or with a polisher, before wax.

Glossworkz Chemical Guys glaze polish: deep shine and micro-scratches concealed
The Glossworkz Glaze from Chemical Guys is a self-leveling glaze designed for the finishing step of a bodywork detailing. It optically fills micro-scratches and swirls left by successive washes, then revives the depth and shine of the paint. It is aimed both at the careful individual and at the detailer looking for a clean finish before applying a protection.
What the glaze brings to the paint
- Optical filling of micro-scratches and light swirls in the clear coat
- Increased gloss and wet look on the original color
- Self-leveling formula that spreads without loading up or leaving excess thickness
- UVA and UVB filters that limit the sun's action on the paint
- Compatible with all body colors, light as well as dark
A glaze is not a polish or a wax
The glaze does not remove material: it masks light defects instead of correcting them. On a clearly marked clear coat, a V38 Chemical Guys finishing polish remains the essential prerequisite step. The glaze also does not provide protection: it is topped with a wax or a sealant that locks in the finish and gives it durability.
Where to place it in a detailing protocol
The logical order is as follows: wash, decontamination with the Chemical Guys blue clay bar, correction with polish if necessary, then application of the glaze. The Chemical Guys 5050 Concours Paste Wax then comes to set the gloss obtained. This sequencing avoids wasting product on a surface that is still contaminated.
Application by hand or by machine
The Glossworkz Glaze accepts both methods. By hand, a foam applicator is enough to treat an entire car. With a polisher, a soft foam finishing pad speeds up the work and evens out distribution on large surfaces, such as the hood or the roof.
Capacity
The 473 ml bottle, reference GAP-618-16 at Chemical Guys, easily covers several complete vehicles, since the product is used in a very small quantity per section.
Instructions for use of the Glossworkz Chemical Guys shine glaze
The Glossworkz Glaze gives its best result on a clean and smooth bodywork. A few minutes of preparation prevent trapping dust under the product and creating new marks during buffing.
Prepare the bodywork
- Wash the vehicle to remove dirt and let it dry.
- Use a clay bar with its lubricant to remove embedded contaminants.
- Correct with polish if the clear coat has pronounced scratches, then degrease.
Hand application
- Apply a small amount of glaze onto a foam applicator.
- Spread in sections of about 60 x 60 cm, crossing the passes.
- Continue section by section until the entire vehicle is treated.
- Buff with a clean microfiber to reveal the shine.
Machine polisher application
- Fit a soft foam finishing pad and prime it with a few dots of product.
- Spread the glaze over a section of about 60 x 60 cm at low speed.
- Work between 1 000 and 1 200 rpm, i.e. speed 4 on an orbital polisher, from left to right then from top to bottom.
- Release pressure on the last passes, then buff with a microfiber.
Good to know
If the pad dries out during work, re-moisten it with the Pad Conditioner Chemical Guys before resuming. Work in the shade, on a surface that is cool to the touch, and always finish with a wax or a sealant: the glaze enhances the paint, but does not protect it.
