White Wax is the finishing wax that Chemical Guys intends for white, silver bodywork and light shades. It lightly cleans the paint, brightens it and protects it in a single step, for owners of light-colored vehicles whose paint looks dull or marked despite careful washing.
A wax designed for light paints
On a white or light shade, light is reflected rather than absorbed: defects are less visible, but the shine fades quickly and the paint takes on a flat look. White Wax relies on the Color Enhancing Technology patented by Chemical Guys, which amplifies the appearance and depth of the paint instead of simply adding a glossy film.

Its place in a detailing routine
The wax comes last, once the bodywork is clean and dry. A prior wash with Citrus Wash and Gloss shampoo avoids trapping dirt under the wax layer. Plan for a microfiber applicator for spreading and a clean buffing microfiber for removal: these are the two accessories that make the difference between an even finish and a marbled result.
The 237 ml jar is used in a thin layer, panel by panel, which greatly limits the amount of product consumed with each pass.
Instructions for use of White Wax wax Chemical Guys
White Wax is applied like a classic cream wax, by hand or with an applicator pad. Success comes down to 2 points: paint that is truly clean to begin with and a thin coat, applied panel by panel.
Application on a clean bodywork
- Wash the vehicle with a car shampoo, rinse, then dry the bodywork completely.
- Set up in the shade and check that the paint is cool to the touch.
- Take a small amount of wax with a foam or microfiber applicator pad.
- Spread a thin, even coat on one panel at a time, using cross-hatch motions.
- Let dry for about 20 minutes.
- Remove the wax with a clean, dry microfiber, turning the cloth as soon as it loads up.
First try on an unknown vehicle
- Choose a low-visibility area, for example the bottom of a pillar or the inside of a tailgate.
- Apply a small amount of wax, then remove it using the same method.
- Check the result in daylight before treating the rest of the bodywork.
Precautions
- Chemical Guys recommends always doing a test on a hidden area before the first use.
- Do not apply the wax in direct sunlight or on hot bodywork: the product dries too quickly and becomes difficult to remove.
- Avoid unpainted plastics and seals, where wax residues leave white marks.
- Close the jar after use and store it at room temperature.
