Polish Finish V38 Chemical Guys: the final step toward the mirror finish
The V38 Optical Grade Final Polish is step 4, the last one in the Chemical Guys correction system. It is an ultra-refined finishing polish: it is not used to correct deep scratches, but to erase the marks left by the previous cutting steps in order to reveal all the depth and clarity of the paint.
What the V38 removes
- Compound marks and cutting haze from previous steps
- Holograms and circular marks left by the rotary
- Micro-marring and light pad marks
- Sanding marks grit 2500 to 3000
A true finish, without a masking effect
The V38 contains neither filling agents nor artificial gloss enhancers: the gloss obtained corresponds to the real condition of the clear coat and does not disappear at the next wash. Its water-based formula offers a long working time, without dusting or residue to clean. It is suitable for all types of paint, including waterborne paints and ceramic clear coats.
For whom?
The V38 is intended for demanding finishes: dark, black, or metallic paints, where the slightest hologram shows, show preparation, or simply the search for the best possible finish after a complete correction.
Which polish to choose in the V range?
- V32 Extreme — step 1, maximum cut. Heavy defects, hard paints, sanding marks 1200-1500.
- V36 Medium — step 3, medium cut. Swirls, light scratches, marks 2000-2500. Can be used alone as a one-step.
- V38 Finish — step 4, finishing. Removes compound marks and holograms for a mirror finish.
Instructions for use of the V38 Finish Polish

With a dual action (DA) polisher
- Apply 4 to 5 drops of V38 onto a soft finishing pad.
- Spray 1 to 3 pumps of Pad Conditioner Chemical Guys to prime the pad.
- Spread the product at speed 1, without applying pressure.
- Work at speed 4 to 5, with light pressure, making 3 to 4 cross passes, until the product becomes transparent.
- Wipe with a clean microfiber, turning the cloth over for each section.
With a rotary polisher
- Apply 4 to 5 drops onto a finishing pad and prime it with the Pad Conditioner.
- Spread the product at around 1 000 rpm.
- Work between 1 000 and 1 200 rpm, with light pressure, crossing the passes.

After polishing
V38 leaves no protection on the paint. Then apply a wax, a sealant or a ceramic protection to lock in the shine obtained and protect the clear coat.
