Body sealant JetSeal Chemical Guys 473 ml

JetSeal is a synthetic nano-polymer sealant that bonds to paint and glass to protect them from UV, water, and road grime. This 473 ml bottle provides up to one year of protection and a vitrified shine.

JetSeal Chemical Guys body sealant: one year of protection
The JetSeal bodywork sealant from Chemical Guys is a synthetic nano-polymer-based protection, derived from aerospace technology, that bonds directly to the surface instead of sitting on top of it. It is aimed at motorists who want a protection applied once or twice a year rather than a wax to renew constantly, with a glossy, glass-like finish. 473 ml bottle.
What the JetSeal sealant brings to the paint
- A polymer barrier that bonds to the surface for increased longevity.
- UV protection that limits discoloration of the clear coat exposed to the sun.
- A hydrophobic effect that makes water bead and speeds up drying after washing.
- Resistance to water spots, contaminants, and road grime.
- A crisp, reflective shine, without haze or a greasy effect.
Claimed durability up to one year
Chemical Guys claims protection that can last up to one year, which is significantly more than a traditional wax. The actual duration depends on where the vehicle is parked, the mileage driven, and the frequency of washes. Regular maintenance with a dedicated car shampoo, such as Citrus Wash and Gloss shampoo, preserves the protective layer much longer than a household detergent, which degrades it quickly.
Compatible surfaces
JetSeal is used on painted surfaces and on glass. The surface must be clean, decontaminated, and perfectly dry before application, because the sealant bonds to whatever it finds, residues included. Using a clay bar with a Clay Luber lubricant before application improves adhesion and the final finish.
Sealant or carnauba wax
A carnauba wax like Butter Wet Wax wax gives a warm, deep shine, but wears quickly. JetSeal sealant prioritizes durability and resistance to external aggressions. Both approaches are commonly combined: the sealant as a base layer for protection, and the wax on top for appearance.
Instructions for use of the JetSeal Chemical Guys bodywork sealant
JetSeal is applied like a classic sealant, on clean, decontaminated and perfectly dry bodywork, in a thin layer. The curing time is the key point of the application, because it determines the bonding of the polymers to the surface.
Application on the bodywork
- Wash and decontaminate the vehicle with a car shampoo, then rinse thoroughly.
- Let the surface dry completely before any application.
- Apply a thin layer of JetSeal by hand, with a foam applicator.
- Let the product cure for twenty minutes.
- Buff off the excess with a clean, dry buffing microfiber.
Application on glass
- Clean the glass, then dry it carefully.
- Apply a thin, even layer with the foam applicator.
- Observe the same curing time of twenty minutes.
- Remove the excess with the microfiber, changing sides as soon as it becomes saturated.
Good to know
Work panel by panel to control the curing time and prevent an area from drying too much. A thin layer is enough: an excess of product makes buffing difficult without improving protection. Since the sealant bonds to the surface as it is, prior decontamination with a clay bar using a Clay Luber lubricant directly determines the durability of the film. Reserve JetSeal for painted surfaces and glass, the only surfaces indicated by the manufacturer, and use a clean microfiber at each step so as not to reintroduce particles onto the clear coat.
