What is the difference between a quick detailer and a wax?

A wax is primarily intended for protection and depth of shine, while a quick detailer cleans light marks while leaving a thin protective layer in a few minutes. Both complement each other: HydroSpeed is applied over an already applied 5050 Concours carnauba wax, without dissolving it.

Does HydroSpeed replace a ceramic treatment?

No, it does not replace a professional ceramic coating applied by hand, then cured. It is used to maintain and extend the beading effect of an existing treatment, or to provide light protection on an untreated vehicle. Chemical Guys does not communicate any durability duration for this spray.

On which surfaces should you apply the Quick Detailer HydroSpeed?

Chemical Guys makes it compatible with paint, glass, rims, and front and rear headlights, whatever the shade of the clear coat. For very dirty windows, a Streak Free glass cleaner remains more suitable beforehand. On an unusual surface, test on a less visible area.

How often should you use a ceramic quick detailer?

There is no imposed schedule: the product is reapplied after each wash or as soon as the water beads less well on the bodywork. One application after each wash is enough, in normal use, to maintain shine and slickness. A SiO2 HydroSuds ceramic shampoo maintains this base from the wash.

How to avoid streaks with a quick detailer?

Streaks almost always come from a hot surface or a saturated microfiber: work in the shade, on a cool bodywork, section by section, then buff with a dry side of the microfiber. On a vehicle that has just been washed, an After Wash drying spray first makes wiping easier.

What SiO2 brings to the finish

Silica nanoparticles form a thin, even film that catches the light and reflects a crisp shine, close to the crystalline look of a ceramic treatment. This same film limits the adhesion of dust and grime, and makes the surface slicker, therefore easier to clean at the next wash.

For best results, do not apply in direct sunlight or on a hot surface, and test on a small area before applying. Shake well. Spray HydroSpeed onto the surface, working one section at a time, then use a clean microfiber towel to gently clean the area. Use between washes to ensure a glossy finish with long-lasting protection. Designed and developed for use on all exterior surfaces: from paint and glass to chrome, wheels and even plastics.
