Smoked black wash bucket Chemical Guys 16 L

The smoked black Chemical Guys wash bucket is a 16 L detailing bucket made of high-density plastic, whose tinted wall lets you see the level of soapy water. It accommodates the Cyclone Dirt Trap grid and serves as an extra seat.

Chemical Guys smoked black wash bucket: the foundation of a scratch-free wash
The Chemical Guys smoked black wash bucket is a 16 L detailing bucket, i.e. 4.25 gallons, molded from high-density plastic. Its translucent smoked tint lets you make out the water level and shampoo dilution without leaning over it, and its generous size lets you do panel after panel without changing the water every five minutes. It’s aimed both at the private individual who washes their car on the weekend and at the detailer who strings jobs together.
Designed for the two-bucket method
The two-bucket method consists of separating the soapy water from the rinse water for the mitt so you never put back on the bodywork the particles that have just been lifted off it. The smoked black tint stands out immediately from the Chemical Guys transparent wash bucket: a simple glance is enough to know which bucket to dip the mitt into.
What the construction is worth
- Thick high-density plastic, designed for intensive use
- 16 L capacity, sufficient for a complete wash of a sedan or SUV
- Tinted wall that lets you read the level and color of the solution
- Rigid enough to serve as a seat while working on the rocker panels and wheels
- Compatible with the Cyclone Dirt Trap grid and the Chemical Guys lid
The accessories that go with it
The bucket accepts the Chemical Guys Cyclone Dirt Trap bucket grid, which traps at the bottom the abrasive particles released by the mitt. Paired with a microfiber chenille wash mitt and a neutral shampoo like Citrus Wash and Gloss, it makes a complete wash station.
Storage between washes
When not washing, the bucket serves as a transport crate for bottles, microfiber towels, and brushes. With the lid in place, it closes and stacks, which reduces clutter in the garage and makes it easier to travel to a client or to a meet.
Instructions for use of the smoked black wash bucket Chemical Guys
A detailing bucket only protects the paint if it is used as a pair and filled in the right order. Here is the procedure to follow on a daily basis.
Two-bucket wash
- Place the Cyclone Dirt Trap grid at the bottom of both buckets.
- Fill the smoked black bucket with clean water: this will be the glove rinse bucket.
- Fill the second bucket with water and shampoo, following the dilution indicated on the bottle.
- Rinse the car, then wash panel by panel, from top to bottom.
- Between each panel, wring out the glove on the grid of the rinse bucket before reloading it with shampoo.
Use as a seat
- Empty the bucket and place it on a flat, stable surface.
- Clip on the Chemical Guys lid before sitting down.
- Work on the wheels, the rocker panels and the bumpers this way without staying squatted.
Good to know
Empty and rinse the bucket after each wash: the dried shampoo film traps dust and becomes abrasive at the next wash. Avoid leaving the bucket full in the sun and do not store aggressive solvents in it. Dedicated to a single function (rinsing or shampoo), a bucket avoids confusion and extends the life of the glove.
