The Glossworkz Auto Wash by Chemical Guys is a concentrated, pH-neutral car shampoo, designed to wash the bodywork while reviving the paint’s shine. It is aimed at motorists who regularly maintain their vehicle and want a safe wash, without removing the wax or sealant already applied.
A wash that preserves protections
The formula is pH-neutral: it lifts dirt without dissolving the protective layers in place. Wax, synthetic sealant, or ceramic protection remain effective after the wash, which avoids having to re-protect the car at every maintenance wash.
Lubricants to limit micro-scratches
The shampoo coats dirt particles and lets them glide off the paint during the mitt pass. It is this lubricating film that reduces the risk of micro-scratches and swirls, those fine circular marks visible especially on dark shades.
Built-in gloss agents
Beyond cleaning, the formula contains gloss agents that revive the depth of the shade. The result is visible as soon as drying, without an additional polishing step.

What the bottle contains
The 473 ml bottle is a concentrate: a few dozen milliliters are enough to fill a bucket, which represents many washes. It works just as well in a two-bucket wash as with a foam cannon or a foam gun.
Which routine to use it in
Glossworkz is used for maintenance washing. For a foaming pre-wash, it can be complemented with Honeydew Snow Foam, and for a hydrophobic finish, with HydroSuds ceramic.
Instructions for use of Glossworkz Auto Wash shampoo Chemical Guys
Glossworkz Auto Wash is used diluted in water, on a cool bodywork and in the shade. Like any concentrated shampoo, it delivers its best results when the vehicle is rinsed before using the wash mitt.
Bucket wash
- Shake the bottle before use.
- Pour about 30 ml of shampoo into a 10-liter bucket of water.
- Rinse the car with clean water to remove heavy dirt.
- Wash from top to bottom with a microfiber mitt, rinsing the mitt regularly.
- Rinse thoroughly, then dry with a microfiber towel.
Foam cannon use
- Pour about 50 ml of shampoo into the reservoir.
- Top up with warm water to 1 liter, then shake.
- Apply the foam over the entire bodywork and let it act for a few moments, without letting it dry.
- Rinse, then continue with the mitt if the car is very dirty.
Good to know
Do not let the shampoo dry on the paint, especially in direct sunlight. For streak-free drying, the After Wash drying spray is sprayed onto bodywork that is still wet.
