Priming spray that lubricates foam, microfiber or wool polishing pads. It limits heat and dust, extends the working time of the polish and prolongs the life of the pads.
Pad Conditioner Chemical Guys: the spray that primes your polishing pads
The Polishing Pad Conditioner from Chemical Guys is a spray lubricant that primes the pad before polishing. A few sprays are enough to moisten the foam, open its cells, and distribute the polish evenly over the entire working surface.
Why do you need to prime a pad?
A dry pad creates friction and heat. This heat dries the abrasives before the end of the pass, which produces uneven work, marring, unnecessary extra passes and, in the worst case, burned clear coat. By lubricating the pad, the Pad Conditioner:
- extends the working time of the polish and makes it possible to use all of its abrasives;
- significantly reduces heat and the risk of burning the clear coat;
- limits dust and compound residue;
- reduces the number of passes needed;
- extends the life of pads, which wear out less quickly.
Compatible with all pads and all polishes
The Pad Conditioner works on foam, microfiber and wool pads, regardless of the machine — dual action (DA) or rotary polisher — and regardless of the product used. It is particularly useful with water-based polishes, such as the Chemical Guys V line: V32 Extreme, V36 Medium and V38 Finish.
Pad Conditioner User Manual
- Attach your pad, clean and dry, to the polisher backing plate.
- Apply 4 to 6 drops of polish to the pad.
- Spray 1 to 3 sprays of Pad Conditioner directly onto the face of the pad.
- Spread the product over the area at low speed before starting the work.
- Add a spray as soon as the pad seems dry to you or the product starts to grab.
On a new pad, an additional spray during the first use helps to properly saturate it. Clean the pad every two or three areas in order to maintain its effectiveness.
