The edgeless Chemical Guys microfiber is a 40 x 40 cm finishing towel designed to buff wax, glaze, or quick detailer without marking the paint. Its laser cut removes any seam and any edging, two frequent causes of micro-scratches on freshly corrected clear coat. It is aimed both at the enthusiast who cares for their finish and at the detailing professional.
A truly edgeless laser cut
On a classic microfiber, the stitched border is the hardest part of the cloth: it is what catches and leaves circular marks on dark surfaces. Here, all four sides are laser heat-cut, with no thread or hem, which makes it possible to work flat without ever bringing a rigid material into contact with the clear coat.

Instructions for use of the edgeless microfiber Chemical Guys
A finishing microfiber is not used like a washing microfiber: it is used on an already clean surface, with very little pressure. Chemical Guys recommends washing it before the first use in order to remove loose fibers from manufacturing.
Buffing a wax or a glaze
- Let the product sit for the time indicated by the manufacturer
- Fold the microfiber into four to have eight clean sides
- Remove the haze in straight lines, without pressing, panel by panel
- Turn the microfiber to a clean side as soon as it loads up with residue
Wiping a quick detailer
- Spray the product on a small area rather than on the whole car
- Spread with a first side, in one direction only
- Immediately go over it with a dry side to finish without streaks
Washing and maintaining the microfiber
- Machine wash in hot water, separately from regular textiles
- Use a mild detergent or a special microfiber detergent
- Tumble dry on low temperature
Precautions
Never use fabric softener or a dryer sheet: they clog the fibers and make the microfiber non-absorbent. A microfiber that has fallen on the ground goes straight to the wash, because a grain of sand trapped in the pile is enough to scratch a clear coat. Finally, reserve this microfiber for finishing and keep separate cloths for the wheels, the engine, and exterior plastics.
