Microfiber Wash by Chemical Guys is a concentrated detergent dedicated to microfiber textiles for detailing. It cleans towels, wash mitts, applicators, and pads thoroughly, without leaving residue in the weave. It is aimed at both individuals and professionals who use a lot of microfiber and want to preserve its absorbency.
Why a specific detergent for microfiber
Chemical Guys points out that a generic detergent reduces the lifespan and performance of microfiber. Fabric softeners are the most problematic: they clog the weave and block liquid absorption. The fiber then loses its bite and becomes less safe on a clear coat. Microfiber Wash was formulated without fabric softener or bleach, for a fabric that comes out clean and ready for use.

A concentrate compatible with all machines
Microfiber Wash is a concentrate: a few dozen milliliters are enough per cycle, which makes the 473 ml bottle long-lasting in use. It can be used both in a standard machine and in a high-efficiency washing machine, and is also suitable for hand washing, in a bucket, for small batches of microfiber.
Instructions for use of microfiber detergent Microfiber Wash Chemical Guys
Microfiber Wash can be used in the washing machine or by hand. Chemical Guys recommends washing in hot water, which opens the fibers and releases dirt, then drying at low temperature so as not to damage the fabric.
Machine wash
- Sort the microfiber towels by use: bodywork, windows, interior, wheels and engine separately.
- Load the drum without packing it down, so that the laundry circulates freely.
- Pour about 30 ml of Microfiber Wash for a small load, 60 ml for a medium load and 90 ml for a large load.
- Run a normal hot-water cycle, in a standard or high-efficiency machine.
- Tumble dry on low heat only.
Hand wash
- Fill a bucket with about 19 liters of hot water.
- Add 30 to 60 ml of Microfiber Wash.
- Submerge the microfiber towels and agitate vigorously.
- Rinse with clean water.
- Dry at low temperature or air dry, away from dust.
Precautions
- Do not use fabric softener or dryer sheets: they clog the fibers and reduce absorption.
- Avoid bleach.
- Never dry at high temperature, as this may stiffen the fibers and make them abrasive to the clear coat.
- Pre-soak very dirty microfiber towels beforehand.
- Store clean, dry microfiber towels in a closed container, protected from dust.
