Drop Off is a hydrophobic protection for automotive glass by Shiny Garage. It forms an invisible layer on the glass that repels water and limits the adhesion of dirt: from 50 km/h, droplets evacuate on their own from the windshield, without intervention from the wipers. The product is aimed at drivers who drive a lot in bad weather, as well as detailers who want to finish a service with a long-lasting window treatment.

Durability announced by Shiny Garage
The manufacturer announces up to 6 months of durability on the windshield and up to 12 months on the side windows when two coats are applied. The difference is explained by the constant friction of the wiper blades, which wears the layer much faster on the windshield than on the side glazing.
Capacity and coverage
The 150 ml bottle easily covers several vehicles: Shiny Garage announces a yield of 5 to 8 ml per windshield. The same bottle therefore makes it possible to carry out applications on several panes of glass and to renew the treatment over the seasons.
Compatible surfaces
Drop Off is formulated only for automotive glass: windshield, side windows and rear window. It is not used on paint, plastics, or headlight lenses. To prepare the glass before application, Shiny Garage recommends using Glass Polish Pro, its cerium oxide glass polish.
Instructions for Use of Drop Off Shiny Garage
The durability of a hydrophobic treatment depends almost entirely on the preparation of the glass. A windshield still loaded with limescale, road residues or a greasy film will prevent the layer from adhering, regardless of the quality of the product. Work on cool glass, in the shade, never in direct sunlight.
Prepare the glazing
- Wash, then dry the glass thoroughly.
- Polish the glass with a dedicated polish, such as Glass Polish Pro, to remove limescale, hard water marks and deposits.
- Degrease the surface with an inspection spray based on isopropyl alcohol, such as the Scan Inspection Spray recommended by Shiny Garage.
Apply the treatment
- Apply the product to a microfiber applicator.
- Spread evenly over the entire glass surface, crossing the passes.
- Leave to act for 3 to 8 minutes.
- Buff the glass with a clean microfiber until the hazes disappear completely.
- For a second coat, wait 1 hour, then repeat the operation.
Precautions
- Avoid any contact with water for at least 6 hours after application.
- Highly flammable liquid and vapors: work in a ventilated area, away from any ignition source, and store the bottle in accordance with the regulations applicable to flammable products.
- The product may cause drowsiness or dizziness. Avoid contact with the eyes and rinse immediately with water in case of splashes.
