HydroShield Ceramic Spray Chemical Guys 473 ml

HydroShield is a sprayable SiO2 ceramic coating, designed for tires, rubber, and plastics, inside as well as outside the vehicle. It leaves a matte, non-greasy, hydrophobic, and UV-resistant finish, in a 473 ml bottle.

HydroShield Chemical Guys ceramic spray: ceramic at the service of plastics and tires
HydroShield is a sprayable SiO2-based ceramic coating, formulated by Chemical Guys for vinyl, rubber, and plastic. It is aimed at motorists who want to restore depth to their tires and exterior plastics, while protecting interior plastics, without using a greasy dressing that attracts dust.
A ceramic protection designed for flexible surfaces
Where a bodywork ceramic is designed for clear coat, HydroShield targets the vehicle’s porous and flexible materials. SiO2 technology forms a protective layer that adheres to the surface and limits soiling from mud and road grime.
A matte finish and dry to the touch
- Matte, non-greasy finish, dry to the touch once the product is buffed
- Deep, dark look on tires and exterior plastics
- No overspray onto the bodywork during application
- Clean appearance, without an oily film or artificial shine
UV resistance and hydrophobic effect
The ceramic shield provides resistance to ultraviolet rays that helps limit dulling and discoloration of plastics exposed to the sun. Outdoors, the treated surface develops a strong hydrophobic effect: water beads and runs off instead of pooling, which makes subsequent washes easier and limits mud buildup.
Interior and exterior with a single product
- Exterior : tires, plastic bumpers, trim strips and unpainted plastics
- Interior : dashboard surrounds, panels and plastic trim
- Compatible with vinyl, rubber, and plastic
Capacity
HydroShield is offered in a 473 ml spray bottle, i.e. 16 oz. The product is applied to the microfiber rather than directly onto the surface, which makes it possible to dose precisely and avoid waste on large plastic parts.
Instructions for use of the HydroShield Chemical Guys ceramic spray
HydroShield is used on a clean, dry surface. The main rule is to spray the product onto the microfiber, and not onto the part to be treated, then to work in small areas in order to keep control over the amount applied.
Preparation before application
- Wash the vehicle or clean the area concerned to remove dust and greasy residues.
- Strip old tire shines that could prevent the coating from adhering.
- Dry the surface carefully: the product is not applied on a damp surface.
- Protect or mask the neighboring areas that you do not wish to treat.
Application on plastics and tires
- Clean and dry completely the surface to be treated.
- Shake the bottle vigorously before use.
- Spray HydroShield onto a clean microfiber towel.
- Wipe the surface gently, covering the entire area.
- Buff to remove excess product.
- Repeat the operation if you wish to enhance the finish.
Drying time
- Let dry 2 to 3 hours before exposing the vehicle to bad weather.
- Wait at least 3 hours before applying a non-ceramic product on the treated area.
- Park the vehicle under cover during this curing phase.
Good to know
- Work in the shade and on a surface that is cool to the touch.
- Use a microfiber dedicated to plastics and tires, never the one reserved for the bodywork.
- On a very dirty tire, prior degreasing determines the coating’s durability.
- Reserve the product for vinyl, rubber, and plastic.
