Speed Mammoth Ultimate Chemical Guys drying towel 63,5 x 76 cm

The Speed Mammoth Ultimate is an ultra plush microfiber drying towel measuring 63.5 x 76 cm, by Chemical Guys. Its dense fibers hold nearly 2 liters of water, and its soft edges dry the bodywork without streaks or micro-scratches.

Speed Mammoth Ultimate Chemical Guys drying towel: a streak-free dry
The Speed Mammoth Ultimate by Chemical Guys is an ultra-plush microfiber drying towel, designed to absorb the remaining water on the bodywork after washing. With its 63.5 x 76 cm, it covers a hood or a roof in just a few passes and is aimed both at the careful individual and at the detailer who goes from vehicle to vehicle.
A dense microfiber that holds nearly 2 liters of water
The tightly packed microfiber strands of the Speed Mammoth Ultimate trap up to half a gallon of water, i.e. nearly 2 liters, without having to wring out the towel every two minutes. Drying is done in a minimum number of passes, which limits contact time with the clear coat and reduces the risk of water spots.
Soft edges that protect the clear coat
The towel is finished with soft-band edges, without rigid topstitching or an aggressive tag. It is this detail that prevents micro-scratches when the edge of the towel passes over a hood edge or over a door pillar.
What you get
- 63.5 x 76 cm format : a usable surface sufficient to handle the large panels of a sedan or an SUV.
- High absorption capacity : nearly 2 liters of water retained by the microfiber.
- Streak-free finish : the bodywork comes out dry and clean, without residual water marks.
- All exterior surfaces : paint, glass, chrome and exterior plastics.
- Reference MIC530 : the slightly more compact version of the Woolly Mammoth.
Speed Mammoth Ultimate or Woolly Mammoth
Both towels are based on the same ultra-plush microfiber. The Speed Mammoth Ultimate is a bit smaller than the Woolly Mammoth: it is easier to handle on small cars and tight areas, where the Woolly Mammoth has the advantage on very large panels.
Instructions for use of the Speed Mammoth Ultimate Chemical Guys drying towel
Drying is the step where you most easily mark a bodywork. The method below takes advantage of the absorption capacity of the Speed Mammoth Ultimate to limit friction.
Dry the bodywork after washing
- Rinse the vehicle thoroughly to remove as much water and shampoo residue as possible.
- Unfold the towel, lay it flat on the roof and pull it slowly toward you, without pressing.
- Continue panel by panel, from top to bottom, always keeping a dry side in contact with the paint.
- Finish with the rocker panels and door sills, the areas most loaded with dirt.
- Make one last pass over the windows and mirrors to remove residual drops.
Speed up drying with a spray
- Spray the After Wash Chemical Guys drying spray onto the still-wet panel.
- Wipe immediately with the Speed Mammoth Ultimate, in slow, steady movements.
- Flip the towel as soon as one side is saturated to keep a streak-free dry.
Precautions
- Never work on hot bodywork or in direct sunlight.
- If the towel falls on the ground, set it aside: a grain of sand is enough to mark the clear coat.
- Reserve this towel for the bodywork and use other microfibers for the wheels and rocker panels.
Maintenance and washing of the Speed Mammoth Ultimate Chemical Guys towel
A drying towel loses its absorbency if it is washed with a standard detergent. Chemical Guys recommends dedicated care in order to preserve the softness and absorption capacity of the microfiber.
Wash the Speed Mammoth Ultimate
- Wash the towel separately from other textiles, in hot water.
- Use Microfiber Wash Chemical Guys detergent, at a rate of about 30 ml for a small load, 60 ml for a medium load, and 90 ml or more for a large load.
- Tumble dry on low heat.
Good to know
- Do not use fabric softener or dryer sheets: they clog the microfiber and cancel out its absorbency.
- Avoid washing it with cotton, which releases lint into the fibers.
- Store it clean and dry, protected from dust, between washes.
