Yellow microfiber applicator Chemical Guys

Yellow Chemical Guys microfiber applicator from the Workhorse range, dedicated to the vehicle’s interior surfaces. Its Durafoam foam covered with a 70/30 microfiber fabric spreads a thin, even film without scratching the treated surfaces.

Yellow Chemical Guys microfiber applicator: a fine and even application in the cabin
The yellow Chemical Guys microfiber applicator belongs to the Workhorse range, a family of accessories organized by color code in order to avoid cross-contamination between areas of the vehicle. Yellow is reserved for the interior: carpets, fabrics, upholstery, dashboard and door panels. It is aimed at both detailers and private individuals who want to apply an interior care product on a regular basis, without overdosing or leaving streak marks.
A 70/30 microfiber on Durafoam foam
The pad combines a Durafoam foam cushion with a 70/30 microfiber cover, a blend chosen by Chemical Guys to significantly reduce the risk of scratching the treated surfaces. The foam releases the product gradually, while the microfiber spreads the film, which avoids overloaded areas and helps save product.
Stitching that does not touch the surface
The applicator is double-stitched on the inside: the seam edges remain enclosed and never come into contact with the surface being worked. It is this construction detail that separates a true detailing applicator from a simple fabric-covered sponge.
The Workhorse color code
- Yellow : interior, carpets, fabrics and upholstery
- Tan : leather and vinyl
- Green : paint
- Gray : rims, polished metals and bumpers
- Blue : engine bay, tires, plastic and rubber
Working with a dedicated applicator by area avoids carrying a greasy dressing onto fabric upholstery or rim residues onto a dashboard.
Compatible surfaces
Chemical Guys indicates that its Workhorse applicators are suitable for fabric, leather, faux leather, vinyl, glass, paint, plastic, rubber, stainless steel, metal and aluminum. The whole set is machine washable, which makes it possible to reuse the pad from one service to the next rather than throwing it away.
Instructions for use of the yellow microfiber applicator Chemical Guys
The applicator is always used on a surface that is already clean. Applying a product on a dusty surface amounts to rubbing dirt into the fabric or vinyl and needlessly saturates the pad.
Apply an interior maintenance product
- Clean and dust the surface to be treated.
- Place three to six dots of product on the microfiber side of the pad.
- Spread in straight lines, without pressing, to obtain a thin, even film.
- Go over the contours and edges with the corner of the applicator.
- Let it work, then remove the excess with a clean microfiber.
Organize the pass through the cabin
- Start with the dashboard and the center console.
- Continue with the door panels, then the pillars.
- Finish with the upholstery and the lower surfaces, the most loaded with dust.
Precautions and maintenance
Rinse the pad with clean water as soon as the service is finished to prevent the product from drying in the fibers, then put it in the washing machine: the microfiber cover is designed for machine washing. Keep one applicator per product family and never use the yellow pad on a rim or a tire, otherwise you may bring abrasive residues back into the cabin. Finally, check the compatibility of the product used on an inconspicuous area before treating the entire surface.
