Black microfiber applicator Chemical Guys

Black Chemical Guys microfiber applicator in 70/30 microfiber on a Durafoam foam core, for spreading wax, sealant, glaze, or dressing in a thin layer. Its tucked seams keep edges away from the paintwork and limit the risk of scratches.

Black Chemical Guys microfiber applicator: controlled application of your protections
The black Chemical Guys microfiber applicator is a rectangular pad made of a premium 70/30 microfiber wrapped around a Durafoam foam core. It is intended for anyone who applies their waxes, sealants, glazes, and dressings by hand, and who is looking to lay down an even film, without over-applying the product or marring the treated surface.
A 70/30 microfiber on a foam core
The premium 70/30 microfiber makes up the working face of the pad. The Durafoam foam core gives it the flexibility needed to conform to contours, edges, and tight parts, while maintaining a comfortable grip on large surfaces.
Recessed stitching to protect the clear coat
The pad is stitched twice inward: the edges of the seam never come into contact with the paint. This construction reduces the risk of scratches during application, including on dark clear coats that are less forgiving.
Compatible products and surfaces
The applicator is designed for cream or gel products from the Chemical Guys range: waxes, sealants, glazes, and dressings. The surfaces listed by the brand are as follows:
- Paint and clear coat
- Plastic, rubber, and vinyl
- Leather and faux leather
- Fabric
- Glass
- Metal, aluminum, and stainless steel
A color code to organize your detailing
Chemical Guys offers its applicators in several colors and recommends dedicating one to each area of the vehicle, in order not to transfer a product from one surface to another. Black is thus complemented by the blue microfiber applicator and the yellow microfiber applicator, each assigned to its workstation.
Washable and reusable
The microfiber is 100% machine washable. Regular washing with a special microfiber detergent maintains the softness of the fabric and extends the life of the pad, which is then stored in a clean, dry place.
Instructions for use of the black microfiber applicator Chemical Guys
The applicator is used by hand, on a surface that has already been washed and dried. The principle remains the same, whatever the product: a small amount of product on the pad, a pass in straight lines, then a wipe with a clean microfiber.
Apply a wax, a sealant or a glaze
- Wash and dry the area to be treated, then check that it is cool and in the shade.
- Place 3 to 6 drops of cream or gel product on the microfiber side of the pad.
- Spread in straight lines, panel by panel, covering the entire surface evenly.
- Let it work according to the manufacturer's instructions, then remove the excess with a clean microfiber.
Apply a dressing on plastics and rubber
- Clean and dry the plastics, trim strips or tire sidewalls.
- Load the pad with a few drops of dressing, without saturating it.
- Go over in straight lines, focusing on dull areas, then go back over any runs.
- Reserve this pad for greasy products and keep a separate applicator for the bodywork.
Maintenance and precautions
Rinse the applicator with clean water as soon as the job is finished, then machine-wash it with a special microfiber detergent. Let it dry completely before storing it, clean and dry. A pad that has fallen on the ground must not be reused on paint as long as it has not been washed, because it can retain abrasive particles.
