Plastic Restorer G6 Hyper Coat Chemical Guys: deep black restored
The G6 Hyper Coat from Chemical Guys is a protective dressing designed for a vehicle’s plastics, rubbers, and vinyls. It is aimed at those whose exterior trim has taken on a gray, powdery look over time, and who want to regain an even black shade without repainting or replacing parts. Its water-based formula can be worked just as well on exterior parts as on cabin surfaces.
What G6 Hyper Coat does on dull plastics
Plastics and rubbers exposed to the sun dry out, fade, and end up taking on that characteristic chalky look. G6 Hyper Coat penetrates the material to nourish it and bring back a strong black color, then lays down a protective layer on the surface.
- Erases the whitened and chalky look of parts exposed to the sun
- Restores a deep black shade on faded trim
- Adds shine from application
- Provides long-lasting protection against UVA and UVB rays
- Dries to the touch and therefore does not attract dust
- Leaves no residue or drip marks
Compatible surfaces
The product is intended for all rubber, plastic, and vinyl parts of a car. It therefore covers a large part of the vehicle in a single bottle.
- Exterior trim and moldings
- Interior trim and door panels
- Dashboard
- Tire sidewalls
- Plastic parts in the engine bay
A water-based formula
G6 Hyper Coat is based on a water-based formula, which makes it comfortable to use in a closed cabin as well as on exterior parts. The finish remains dry to the touch once the excess is removed, an important point on a dashboard or a door panel, where a greasy finish would retain dust and fingerprints.
For whom
This dressing is suitable for the individual who maintains their car on the weekend as well as for the detailer who goes from vehicle to vehicle. The 473 ml bottle covers many applications, since the product is dispensed by sprays onto an applicator and not directly onto the part.
Instructions for use of the G6 Hyper Coat Chemical Guys plastic restorer
The G6 Hyper Coat is always applied to a clean surface and using an applicator, never by direct spraying onto the part. This method prevents overdosing, runs and splashes on windows or paint.
Application on trim and plastics
- Clean the surface with an all-purpose cleaner or an interior cleaner, then let dry.
- Shake the bottle vigorously before each use.
- Spray two to five pumps of product onto a foam or microfiber applicator.
- Spread evenly over the entire part, working the product into the material.
- Remove the excess with a clean microfiber towel.
- Wait five to ten minutes, then add a second coat if you want a deeper black.
Application on tires and the engine bay
- Degrease the tire sidewalls or the plastics in the engine bay, with the engine cold, then let dry.
- Load the applicator in the same way, then work the product in sections.
- Wipe off the excess with a microfiber to prevent splashes on the bodywork on the first drive.
Good to know
The dry-to-the-touch finish does not attract dust and leaves no marks or runs, which makes it possible to use the product on a dashboard without getting greasy reflections. Additional coats layer to gradually intensify the depth of black, but always respect the waiting time between two passes. Keep the bottle closed, out of reach of children.
