Chemical Guys Leather Cleaner leather cleaner: clean leather without damaging it
Leather Cleaner by Chemical Guys is a ready-to-use, colorless and odorless leather cleaner, intended for automotive upholstery and trim as well as furniture. Its pH-balanced formula removes dirt, grease and signs of wear without staining the leather or altering its texture.
What the product removes
- Dust and dirt embedded in the pores of the leather
- Grease and body oils deposited by hands and clothing
- Sweat accumulated on seats and backrests
- Food residues and light stains
A formula designed not to damage the leather
The product penetrates the pores to loosen and suspend dirt and grease, then collected with a microfiber cloth. It is colorless, which eliminates any risk of coloring on light leathers, and odorless, an appreciable point in a closed cabin. After drying, it leaves neither a crusty film nor a halo, and the leather’s original texture remains intact.
Compatible surfaces
- High-quality natural leathers
- Sealed leathers, the most common in automobiles
- Synthetic leathers and faux leather
- Vinyl
Protection and longevity
The formula includes UV protection and anti-aging agents that limit drying and discoloration linked to sun exposure. Cleaning remains, however, a first step: to restore suppleness and long-lasting protection, it is used in addition to a nourishing care product such as Leather Conditioner or a finishing protection such as Leather Protectant Serum.
Capacity and format
473 ml spray bottle, ready to use and without dilution. Chemical Guys offers the same product in 946 ml and 3,78 L for workshops that handle large volumes.
Instructions for use of the Leather Cleaner leather cleaner Chemical Guys
Leather Cleaner is used pure, without dilution. The method differs depending on whether it is routine maintenance or heavily soiled leather.
Routine maintenance of leather upholstery
- Vacuum the cabin and the seams to remove dust and small stones.
- Spray the product onto a clean microfiber rather than directly onto the leather, in order to control the amount applied.
- Treat one seat base or one backrest at a time, in small areas, using crosswise motions.
- Wipe immediately with a dry interior microfiber, before the product dries on the surface.
- Let air-dry, then apply a nourishing care product.
Soiled leather or areas that have become shiny
- Spray directly onto the area concerned.
- Work the product with a soft horsehair bristle brush to bring up the dirt lodged in the pores.
- Pick up the residues with a microfiber, then go over again with a slightly damp microfiber.
- Repeat the operation if necessary, rather than pressing harder on the material.
Precautions
- Test on an inconspicuous area before first use, especially on light-colored or perforated leather.
- Never let the product dry on the surface.
- The product is not intended for untreated leathers such as suede or nubuck.
- The formula contains formaldehyde: ventilate during application and keep out of reach of children.
Good to know
On a daily-use vehicle, regular use, spaced a few months apart, prevents greasy substances from becoming deeply embedded. Contact areas, seat bolsters and the steering wheel, get dirty faster than backrests and deserve more frequent checking.
