All our P16W LED Bulbs

The P16W bulb is a type of automotive bulb base mainly used for reverse lights (reverse gear) and sometimes for daytime running lights on certain European vehicles. This base, not to be confused with the W16W, is fitted in particular on Audi, BMW and Volkswagen models. Our P16W ULTIMA white LED bulb allows a direct replacement of the original halogen.

These two references are often confused. The P16W has a bayonet base (snap-in), while the W16W (T15/921) has a wedge base (push-in). They are not interchangeable: check the exact reference on your original bulb before ordering, in order to avoid any installation error.

Yes, the replacement is direct and without modification to the vehicle. Simply remove the halogen bulb and insert the LED. Our P16W ULTIMA LED is designed as Plug & Play for quick installation, with a 6500K white light that is significantly brighter than the original halogen.

Our P16W ULTIMA LED bulb is designed to minimize Can-bus errors on most vehicles. However, some particularly sensitive models may require the addition of an external resistor. If in doubt, do not hesitate to contact our technical team.

The P16W base is used mainly for reverse lights on European vehicles, such as certain Audi (A3, A4, Q5), BMW (1 Series, 3 Series) and Volkswagen (Golf, Passat). It is less common than the W16W, but remains a common format on these ranges. Check the maintenance booklet or the reference written on the original bulb to confirm.

Switching to LED for your reverse lights offers a much more powerful white light and instant switch-on, improving visibility during maneuvers. Our LED P16W ULTIMA also consumes less energy and lasts much longer than a conventional halogen bulb.
