The difference lies in the type of base of the bulb, which determines compatibility with your vehicle. The H7 is a single-filament base, used for headlights with separate optics (one headlight for dipped beams, another for main beams). The H4 is a dual-filament base, used for combined headlights (dipped and main beam in the same optic). Consult the vehicle manual or check the current bulb to determine the required type. The H7 kit delivers 3 100 lumens at 30W, the H4 reaches 3 300 lumens at 36W.

The Philips PRO6001 connection rings are adapters required to fit the Ultinon Pro6000 LED bulbs in certain headlights whose housing does not match directly. There are two types: the Type P and the Type D, each designed for specific optic configurations. Without the right ring, the LED bulb would not clip properly into the headlight bulb holder, which would cause poor beam alignment. The Philips Ultinon Pro6000 are designed for an exceptional lifespan, far exceeding that of halogen bulbs. Philips announces a lifespan of more than 3,000 hours of use, i.e. about 10 times more than a standard halogen bulb (300 hours). The 3-year manufacturer’s warranty covers any manufacturing defect. The thermal dissipation system integrated into the bulbs prevents overheating, which reduces the lifespan of LEDs. In normal daily use, these bulbs can last the entire life of the vehicle.

It depends on the vehicle. The Philips Ultinon Pro6000 already include an electronic driver that manages power supply and compatibility. On many vehicles, they work directly without an additional anti-error box. However, some vehicles equipped with a demanding canbus system (notably certain German models) may still display an error message on the dashboard. The installation is designed to be carried out without specific tools. Open the hood and access the rear of the headlight. Remove the protective cover and unclip the original halogen bulb. If necessary, install the appropriate connection ring (type P or type D). Insert the Philips LED bulb into the housing and lock it. Connect the electrical connector. Put the protective cover back on. Test the low beam and high beam. The operation takes about 15 to 30 minutes per headlight. An installation guide is provided by Philips with each kit.
