Plastic disassembly tools are specially designed to remove a vehicle’s interior trim and panels without damaging them. Yes, portable LED work lights are perfectly suited for work under the hood and under the vehicle. Their magnetic mounting allows them to be attached to metal surfaces (chassis, engine cradle, bodywork) to free up both hands. Powerful LED lighting covers a sufficient work area without generating excessive heat. USB-rechargeable models offer several hours of battery life. Their compact format easily slips into tight spaces in the engine compartment.

To remove a door trim without breaking the clips, start by removing the visible screws (often hidden behind decorative covers). Then insert a plastic removal tool between the trim and the door sheet metal, starting at the bottom. Pry gently and gradually, alternating pressure points around the panel. The clips will unclip one by one with a sharp snapping sound. Never pull abruptly on the trim. Once all the clips are unclipped, lift the trim upward to free it from the window. Always work with plastic tools to avoid scratches.

For mechanical work and LED installations, a work light of 300 to 800 lumens provides comfortable lighting. Below 300 lumens, the lighting is insufficient for dark areas of the engine compartment. Models with 800 lumens and more make it possible to light up large areas, such as the underside of a vehicle. Choose lights with multiple intensity modes to adjust the lighting according to the task: a high-intensity mode for precision work, and an economy mode for long tasks that require better battery life.
