EcoSmart Chemical Guys concentrated waterless wash: wash and wax without rinsing
EcoSmart is the hyper-concentrated version of Chemical Guys’ waterless wash. Diluted with water, it allows you to wash an entire car with just a few centiliters of water, whereas traditional washing requires several tens of liters. It is aimed at motorists who do not have access to a water point or a pressure washer, as well as apartment building residents and mobile detailing professionals.
How a waterless wash works
The formula combines hyper-surfactants that emulsify and lift dirt from the surface, as well as lubricating agents that reduce friction during wiping. The particles thus remain encapsulated in the product and end up trapped in the microfiber, instead of being dragged across the clear coat. Chemical Guys describes this formula as No Scratch and No Swirl.

Compatible surfaces
The product can be used on paint, glass, plastic, rubber, stainless steel, metal and aluminum. A single solution is therefore sufficient for the bodywork, windows, trim and non-heavily soiled wheels, which limits the number of containers to carry.
A concentrated format to dilute
The 473 ml bottle is diluted at a ratio of 16 volumes of water to 1 volume of product and allows you to prepare up to about 7.5 liters of ready-to-use solution. The concentrate is stored in a reduced volume, which is convenient for a car trunk or a small workshop supply. It is prepared directly in a clean sprayer, as needed.
For which vehicles
EcoSmart is suitable for cars, vans, motorcycles and motorhomes whose bodywork is simply dusty or marked by traffic. On a vehicle covered in thick mud or road salt, Chemical Guys recommends a pre-rinse or a traditional wash before any application, such as a Citrus Wash and Gloss shampoo.
EcoSmart Chemical Guys Waterless Wash Instructions
The success of a waterless wash comes down to three points: correct dilution, clean microfiber towels, and working panel by panel. Here is the procedure to follow with EcoSmart concentrate.
Prepare the solution
- Rinse a clean spray bottle to avoid any residue from another product.
- Pour 1 part EcoSmart concentrate to 16 parts water.
- Close and gently shake until you obtain a homogeneous mixture.
- Prepare 4 to 6 clean microfiber towels for a complete vehicle.
Wash the bodywork
- Work one panel at a time, starting with the roof, then working your way down.
- Spray the solution generously onto the area to be treated.
- Wipe in a single direction with a plush microfiber folded into four.
- Change sides with each pass so you never wipe dirt back onto the clear coat.
- Buff immediately with a clean, dry drying microfiber.
Windows and plastics
- Spray the same solution onto the window or the trim.
- Wipe with a microfiber dedicated to glass surfaces.
- Finish with a dry pass to remove streaks.
Precautions
Do not use EcoSmart on a vehicle covered in mud or road salt: these heavy soils require a pre-rinse or a traditional wash. Use only clean microfiber towels, at least 300 g per m², and wash them after each use. A microfiber loaded with sand becomes abrasive and cancels out the benefit of the lubricating formula.
