LED side marker lights – truck, trailer and utility vehicle

A LED clearance light is a side position light that signals the width and length of a vehicle to other road users. It is mandatory on trucks, trailers and vehicles over 6 meters long. LED technology offers immediate visibility thanks to instant switch-on, ultra-low consumption (0,3W to 1,2W) and a service life of over 30,000 hours. Yes, the majority of our LED clearance lights carry E-mark approval, which means they comply with European standards for road traffic. This approval guarantees that the light meets the regulatory requirements for brightness, color, and durability. Check for the E-mark marking on the product sheet before purchase.

The color depends on the position on the vehicle: white for the front, orange (amber) for the sides and red for the rear. This is the general rule in Europe, in accordance with the ECE directives. Some models are also available in blue for decorative off-road uses. At AGM Vision, each product sheet specifies the available colors and the recommended locations.

Installation is simple: each light is fixed with 2 screws to the chassis or bodywork. The connection is made in 12V or 24V with two wires (positive and negative). It is recommended to use waterproof connectors to protect the connections from moisture. The operation takes on average 5 to 10 minutes per light. Check the dimensions of the required drilling on the technical data sheet.

LED clearance lights consume very little energy, between 0.3W and 1.2W per light, depending on the model. This ultra-low consumption makes it possible to install several dozen lights without overloading the vehicle’s electrical circuit. By way of comparison, a conventional halogen clearance light bulb consumes 5W to 10W, i.e. up to 30 times more than an LED equivalent.

The choice depends on the mounting location. Rectangular lights are suitable for flat surfaces (body sides, trailer edges) with an extra-flat profile. Round lights are better suited to curved surfaces and tight spaces (wheel arches, trailer corners). Both formats offer the same performance in terms of brightness and service life.
