LED stop light, strobe light and steady light

In France, since July 1st, 2012, the third brake light has become mandatory for all newly approved vehicles in the European Union. This means that all new vehicles sold in France since this date must be equipped with a third brake light.

For older vehicles, which were on the road before this date, it is not mandatory to retrofit a third brake light, but its installation is recommended for road safety reasons. It may also be required when modifying or converting an existing vehicle.

A strobe light, also called a "strobe," is a lighting device that produces very short and rapid flashes of light at regular intervals. These flashes of light are very intense and occur at a high frequency, thus creating a flickering or stroboscopic effect.

Strobe lights are often used for various purposes, notably to attract attention, create special visual effects, or signal emergency situations. They are commonly used in the fields of safety, road signaling, photography, dance, and entertainment.

In the context of vehicles, strobe lights can be used to improve visibility and safety. For example, certain emergency vehicles, such as police cars, fire trucks, and ambulances, are equipped with flashing strobe lights to warn other drivers in case of an emergency.

The previously mentioned LED strobe stop lights are an example of strobe lights used on vehicles to create a distinctive flashing effect when braking, thus improving visibility and safety.
