H6M P15D motorcycle LED bulb – For scooters & small-displacement bikes

The P15D base (also called H6M) is one of the most common formats on motorcycles, scooters and quads for the main headlight. It is a dual-filament bulb (low beam + high beam) with a single base. The H6M Dual Tech AC/DC bulb, our best-seller, is compatible with alternating current and direct current.

H6M and P15D refer to the same bulb base: P15D is the international technical designation, H6M is the commonly used commercial name. The two terms are interchangeable. Check for the presence of two offset lugs on the base to confirm that it is indeed a P15D.

The H6M Dual Tech bulb is specifically designed to operate on AC and DC, making it compatible with all scooters and motorcycles, including those that power the headlight directly from the alternator without going through the battery. It is the most popular model in our motorcycle range.

As a general rule, 50cc scooters and entry-level motorcycles without a battery (or with a small battery) power the headlight with alternating current (AC). Motorcycles with a standard-capacity battery provide direct current (DC). If in doubt, choose the AC/DC version, which works in both cases.

Yes, the P15D LED bulb is bi-LED: it reproduces the two filaments of the original halogen bulb for low beam and high beam. Switching from one to the other is normally done via the switch, as with the original bulb. The brightness gain is immediate in both modes.

No, the replacement is direct and takes less than 10 minutes: remove the halogen bulb from the headlight, insert the P15D LED and reconnect the connector. No special tool or wiring modification is necessary. The Dual Tech AC/DC fits the vast majority of optics.
