Delete the burned-out bulb faults after switching to LED

Modern vehicles continuously monitor the electrical consumption of each bulb. When you install LED bulbs, which are much more energy-efficient than the original halogens, the onboard computer may interpret this low consumption as a faulty bulb.Result: burnt-out bulb warning light on the dashboard, OBD message, rapid flashing of the turn signals, or even automatic shutdown of the lighting. Our CANBUS anti-error modules and load resistors make it possible to restore perfectly normal operation, while...

Why does an error appear after installing an LED?

Halogen bulbs consume a lot of current, whereas an LED shines brighter while consuming less.

On recent vehicles — especially German ones (BMW, Audi, Mercedes, Volkswagen, Mini, Porsche…), but also certain recent French models or commercial vehicles — the ECU detects this difference in consumption.

It then thinks that:

  • the bulb is blown
  • the circuit is open
  • the power is not compliant

The vehicle therefore activates an electronic safety feature.

An anti-error module or a resistor simply makes it possible to simulate the electrical load of a halogen bulb, which tricks the vehicle’s monitoring without modifying your LED installation.

What are anti-error modules used for?

CANBUS modules are Plug & Play adapters that connect between the car and the LED bulb.

They are used for:

  • LED dipped beams
  • LED high beams
  • fog lights
  • parking lights
  • interior lighting
  • reverse lights
  • license plate
  • certain brake lights

They eliminate:

  • blown bulb warning light
  • OBD message
  • flickering when stopped
  • shut-off after start-up
  • electronic incompatibility

What are load resistors used for?

Resistors make it possible to artificially increase electrical consumption.

They are mainly used for:

  • LED turn signals (hyper-flash)
  • LED brake lights
  • LED tail lights
  • trailers
  • specific installation
  • very sensitive vehicles

They are wired directly into the harness and reproduce the behavior of a standard halogen bulb.

Which solution to choose?

In general:

  • for a simple installation → CANBUS anti-error module
  • for a turn signal that flashes fast → resistor
  • for a very demanding vehicle → anti-error + resistor
  • for a specific installation → solder-on resistor

Each vehicle having a different electronic tolerance, we offer several power ratings and technologies in order to achieve maximum compatibility.

Compatible with all types of LED bulbs

Our solutions work with:

H1, H4, H7, H8, H9, H11, H15, HB3, HB4, W5W, P21W, PY21W, WY5W, T10, C5W and many others.

They are suitable for both recent cars and high-end vehicles that are heavily multiplexed.

Keep LED performance without errors

Installing an LED kit should not force you to put up with a dashboard that is permanently lit.

AGM Vision anti-error modules and resistors make it possible to obtain modern, powerful and clean lighting, while maintaining the electrical behavior expected by the vehicle.
