Bulb retaining spring rod

The spring clip (or retaining clip) is a metal part that holds the H7 bulb in place in the headlight housing. Each manufacturer uses a different type of clip. The H7 Type 2 clip is our best-selling model, compatible with many European vehicles.

Some H7 LED bulbs have a diameter or a shape slightly different from the original halogen, which can prevent the retaining clip from snapping in properly. Our replacement retaining clips are designed to accommodate the LED format, while ensuring a firm hold and optimal beam alignment.

The type of retaining clip depends on the manufacturer and the model: remove the existing clip from your headlight and compare its shape with the photos of our different types. The most common types are the Type 2 (VW, Audi, Skoda) and the Type 5 (Mercedes, BMW).

Our H7 LED kits are delivered with a standard universal retaining clip, but it does not fit all vehicles. If your headlight uses a specific locking system, a dedicated clip is required. Check out our full range of clips to find the right one.

Installation is done in a few steps: insert the LED bulb into the headlight housing, position the spring bar over the base, then clip it into the notches of the headlight unit. The bar must apply firm pressure to prevent the bulb from moving and maintain the correct beam adjustment.

Our rods are designed to be compatible with the vast majority of H7 LED bulbs on the market, including AGM Vision models. The stainless steel spring adapts to slight variations in diameter between different brands of LED bulbs.
