The brush is used during polishing, between two areas, and at the end of the session before putting the equipment away. The principle remains the same in both cases: place the bristles against the face of the pad to remove dry residue.
Cleaning a pad during polishing
- Turn the polisher over so that the pad is facing upward.
- Start the machine at a moderate speed.
- Apply the brush against the rotating pad, from the center toward the edge.
- Let the stiff bristles extract the dried polish, then switch off the machine.
- Resume work on the next area with a pad that is operational again.
Deep-cleaning a pad by hand
- Place the pad on a work surface, foam side facing you.
- Brush the surface with short movements to loosen the product crusts.
- Follow up with a wash using Polishing Pad Cleaner Chemical Guys if the pad is heavily loaded.
- Let the pad air-dry before storing it.
Precautions
